Ever wished for a holiday dedicated to gifting books? Iceland has you covered with Jólabókaflóð! Pronounced “Yo-la-bok-a-flot,” this Icelandic tradition roughly means “flood of books” — and it’s every reader’s dream come true.

During World War II, Iceland faced shortages like the rest of the world, but paper wasn’t rationed, making books one of the few accessible gifts. The Icelandic people, who had recently gained independence from Denmark, leaned into this, gifting books and creating a treasured national tradition. The result? A country of passionate bookworms and an annual book-giving fest.

Since 1944, the Icelandic book trade has mailed a catalog to every household in November, just in time for the Reykjavík Book Fair. Families flip through the catalog, pick out books, and gift them to friends and family on December 24. After opening their gifts, everyone grabs a mug of hot chocolate, gets cozy, and dives into their new reads!

Join us at our adult book fair and help us celebrate Jólabókaflóð.

We will have a wide selection of books along with a dedicated "Build a Jólabókaflóð Gift Station".
Tidal Brewing will have their own version of Iceland's traditional jólabland a fizzy adult beverage and all their normal beers on tap!

Join us December 16th for an Ornament Painting event at Tidal Brewing Co. Spots are very limited so don’t wait to gather some friends and sign up here!

Each guest will receive THREE wooden ornaments to paint any color scheme they like - resin will be used to create a glass like appearance - guests will receive a box/tray to transport ornaments home in.

Ornaments will include a Christmas Tree, Snow Globe (add last name OR merry christmas & initial), & Stocking!

We will be providing complementary Christmas Cookies & Tidal staff will be available for all beverage purchases Please feel free to bring any other snacks you’d like to enjoy during the event.

A ticket must be purchased for all those attending

No refunds once ticket has been purchased. If you cannot attend the event for any reason you choose to pick up your wood ornaments at your convenience within 30 days. This will not include paint or resin.

Grove Market is a community-driven event showcasing local artists, makers, and small businesses coordinated by Roots Creative Co. We invite you to join us in this effort to cultivate community across Central Florida.

Join us Wednesday Dec 4th at 6:30PM, at Tidal Brewing Co. for our Charcuterie Tree Christmas workshop .

Participants will learn how to artfully arrange a variety of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, and accompaniments, into the shape of a visually stunning Christmas tree. Our workshops combine culinary skills with creativity, making them perfect for food enthusiasts and those looking to elevate their hosting game.

Workshop includes, perfect pairing suggestions, assembly instruction, assortment of hand picked artisanal premium cheeses, gourmet meats, seasonal fruits, crackers/jam, accompaniments, and utensils. Everyone will bring their beautifully handcrafted charcuterie trees home to share with family and friends.
