In late 2020, Maxine started brainstorming with her husband Dave and friend Allisa on ways the brewery could collaborate with local groups and nonprofits, such as Hernando County ESL, to help educate the community on our preserves, parks, and natural resources. After a few meetings, brainstorming sessions, and new introductions, A Tide for a Cause was born.

Nature conservation is defined as 'the moral philosophy and conservation movement focused on protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity.' We truly look forward to collaborating with our friends, neighbors, and fellow beer and nature enthusiasts across our community in doing our part toward nature conservation.

This project was created out of our love for science and the great outdoors right here in our own backyard.

Our first project for the initiative was a collaboration between Tidal Brewing Company, Hernando County's Environmentally Sensitive Lands (ESL), and Roots Creative Company.

Since 2020, we’ve brought special events and limited-edition beers to the taproom representing each of the main preserves here in Hernando County and so much more.

The project aims to provide an array of unique opportunities that will educate Hernando County residents on how they can help restore local sensitive wildlife habitats and landscapes, protect our water quality, partake in nature-based recreational activities, and preserve the quality of life here on the Florida Adventure Coast.

We’ve brought limited edition beers and events to the taproom to highlight the preserves and programs in Hernando County.

So, how do I get involved?
